At Stamford Dance Academy, we believe dance should be fun, confidence-building, and supportive for every child. Our friendly and caring environment encourages students aged 2½ to 18 to express themselves, make lasting friendships, and grow in confidence through every step they take. We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz and Acrobatics.

where it all began

It all started in 2007 with Miss Charlotte, a big dream, and just six pupils in her very first class. She wanted to create more than just a dance school, she dreamed of a place where children could make new friends, grow in confidence, and feel proud of themselves.

Fast forward to today, and we’re bursting with energy every week, running classes all day on Saturdays and evenings during the week!

From tiny twirls to high kicks and flips, we teach Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Acrobatics in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Whether you’re dancing for fun or dreaming of the stage, there’s a place for everyone here!

We’re thrilled to share that alongside Miss Charlotte, we now have Miss Lottie joining us to teach classes at SDA! Together, we continue working towards dance examinations and proudly showcase our students’ talents at our biannual theatre performances and regular appearances at local events.

But it’s not just about the dance lessons, it’s also about building friendships, growing in confidence, and creating lasting memories.

Each year brings new opportunities, fresh energy, and exciting developments, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for SDA!

Can my child try a class before enrolling?

Absolutely! Just click on 'book now' and it will take you to our booking page where you can book your trial classes!

What should my child wear to class?

Comfy clothes they can move in! Barefoot for Ballet to begin with. No shoes needed for Acro or Modern Jazz. Tap we do have a box of spares you are welcome to borrow from or out door shoes is fine to start with!

Do you hold performances or showcases?

Yes! We have opportunities throughout the year to perform at various events in and around Stamford as well as our bi-annual show at the local theatre!
